“Humanity has been plagued by cancer for centuries, and although medical advancements have greatly improved our ability to detect and treat it, preventing cancer from developing in the first place is still the most efficient way to do so. Although there is no foolproof way to prevent cancer, there are some lifestyle changes that can significantly lower your risk, “Dr. Nayak says.

Here are five methods to lessen your risk of getting cancer:
